This Saturday, May 8, 2010, is our annual Diamond Day celebration! Please show your support by volunteering and participating in the day’s events. We hope this will be a day for families to come to the ballpark and enjoy a community event. A game schedule is listed below. *NOTE – In case of inclement weather, games will be cancelled.

PITCH, HIT & RUN COMPETITION (the baseball version of Punt, Pass & Kick which is for football)

For the second year in a row, we are trying to do something a little different that will be fun for our players and give them an opportunity to compete in a baseball/softball skills contest. The Rec. Dept. is hosting a local Pitch, Hit & Run Competition, strictly for our participants ages 7 – 14. Because of the July 17, 2010 birthdate cutoff, we realize that there will be a few players who will have to move into a different age division or may be excluded from winning. We have chosen Diamond Day to run the competition. This

contest will be in lieu of the games and is free.

Winners from this competition will advance to the Sectionals which will be held at the end of May. We have divided the age groups into time slots to keep the competition progressing.

Please be patient and understand that our volunteers are striving to make this an enjoyable experience for our participants. It is not mandatory that your child participate but we encourage everyone to come out as a spectator.

Winners will be announced at the conclusion of each age division and will be released in the Rec. Report.

Attached is a registration form to complete prior to the competition.

A birth certificate is required unless we have your child’s on file (we will have a list of those birth certificates that are needed).

9:30 a.m. Registration for 7 & 8 yr. old boys and girls

10:00 a.m. Competition begins for 7 & 8 yr. old boys and girls

10:30 a.m. Registration for 9 & 10 yr. old boys and girls

11:00 a.m. Competition for 9 & 10 yr. old boys and girls

Senior Field

9:30 a.m. Registration for 11 & 12 yr. old boys and girls

10:00 a.m. Competition begins for 11& 12 yr. old boys and girls

11:00 a.m. Registration for 13 & 14 yr. old boys and girls

11:30 a.m. Competition for 13 & 14 yr. old boys and girls

Cheerleading/Football registration has begun and will continue through Wednesday, June 2nd for cheerleading and Friday, June 4th for football. Cheerleading fitting dates are Wednesday, May 26 and Wednesday, June 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Pickens Recreation Center on Sangamo Road.

Don’t forget about our ten-week summer day camp which begins June 14. We will be happy to mail brochures to you, or registration forms can be picked up at the Rec. office. Please feel free to call with any questions, 878-2296.
