George H. Chapman, 78, of 1908 Pumpkintown Highway, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at his residence.



Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Dennis and Louie Crowe Chapman, he was a retired employee with Foster Plant of Alice Manufacturing, was a member of Griffin Baptist Church and a USArmy veteran of the Korean War.



Surviving are a son, Randall W. Chapman and his wife, Wilma, of the home; two sisters, Lida Cater of Easley and Dorothy Fowler of West Pelzer; one granddaughter, Lauren Chapman; two step grandchildren, Troy and Jaime; and 2 step great-grandchildren, Ariel and Tsy-Ann.



Funeral services will be 11 AM, Thursday at Griffin Baptist Church with Revs. Mark Bernshausen and Buddy Moore officiating.



Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service.



Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice Care of SC, 900 E. Main Street, Easley, SC 29642.
