Haley takes early lead in Republican Governor’s race

STATE—With just four of the 46 counties reporting results, Nikki Haley has an early lead over Gresham Barrett in the race for the Republican nomination for Governor. Haley has garnered 56.47 percent of the vote to Barrett’s 43.53 percent. Haley leads by about 2,600 votes at this point.

In the race for the party’s nomination for Lt. Governor, Ken Ard has a lead with 58.5 percent of the votes. Bill Conner trails with 41.5 percent of the votes with four of the 46 counties in the state reporting.

With 55.93 percent of the vote so far, Alan Wilson leads Leighton Lord in the race for the Republican nomination for Attorney General.

Mick Zais leads Elizabeth Moffly in the Republican race for Superintendent of Education. Zais has 55.14 percent of the vote to Moffly’s 44.86 percent.

With three of 10 counties reporting in, Richard Cash has a slim lead over Jeff Duncan in the race for U.S. House District 3. Cash has 51.23 percent of the votes so far, while Duncan has 49.77 percent. Cash leads by just 87 votes.
