Those interested in running for the two seats on the Georges Creek Watershed and the three on the Oolenoy Watershed must file with the Pickens County Registration and Elections Commission.
And those wanting to run for the 4 seats in the Brushy Creek Watershed and the 2 seats in the Three & Twenty Watershed must file with the S.C. State Election Commission.
These directors are non-salaried officials elected to four-year terms, according to election officials.
Candidates must be registered voters in the county and reside in the watershed in which they are seeking office.
Filing will start at noon on Aug. 2 and end at noon Aug. 16.
Elections for these seats are non-partisan, and no party affiliation will be placed on the ballots, election officials said.
They will be conducted at the same time other county and state officers are elected in the 2010 General Election.
New for this year, candidates are required to complete ethics forms online. Both forms, the State of Economic Interest and the Campaign Disclosure Form, must be electronically filed at https://ssl.sc.gov/EthicsRegistration/Login/Login.aspx.
