The seats for Districts 2, 4 and 6 are up for re-election this year, and filing will be open August 2-16.
Those interested in running for the seats can file at the office of the Registrations and Elections Commission, located at 222 McDaniel Avenue in Pickens, during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The filing fee for these seats is $120. Checks can be made out to the Pickens County Treasurer.
At the time of filing, each candidate must complete a Statement of Candidacy Form, pay the filing fee, and present proof that they have filed their Statement of Economics Interests form online.
Candidates are required to complete ethics forms. A state law passed this year now requires these forms to be completed online.
The forms must be electronically filed here: https://ssl.sc.gov/EthicsRegistration/Login/Login.aspx
