According to a warrant obtained from SLED, Benjamin Dale Pilgrim, 26, 1557 Midway Road, Pickens, allegedly “commit the offense of second degree sexual exploitation” at his home by “distributing, transporting, exhibiting, selling, purchasing, exchanging or soliciting” material.
Pilgrim is accused of using the Gnutella file-sharing network to share digital images and/or videos depicting children engaged in sex acts, the warrant stated.
Pilgrim’s computer was seized and police allege the pornographic material was found on his computer, according to Attorney General’s Office officials.
If convicted of the one charge of felony sexual exploitation of a minor, Pilgrim faces two to ten years in prison, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
Pilgrim was booked at the Pickens County Detention Center. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the case, officials said.
Both SLED and the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department are members of the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Task Force.
