Doni Faith Hale Miles, 33, of 314 Chandler Road, is charged with one count of arson.
According to a Pickens County Sheriff’s Office incident report, deputies responded to the Chandler Road home on August 3, after receiving calls from both Doni Hale and her husband.
Doni Miles allegedly told police that she and her husband had been in argument and that she’d been assaulted during the altercation, but would not give her location to police, the report said.
While responding to this call, deputies were alerted that Wayne Miles had called police, stating that he’d arrived home to find his house on fire.
Wayne Miles told police he’d gone for a walk after arguing with his wife, and discovered the fire on his return.
Easley and Crosswell firefighters stretched the home for Mrs. Miles while extinguishing the blaze, but neither police nor firefighters were able to locate her, the report said.
Easley firefighters said they identified three separate starting points — two beds and a couch — for the blaze, and an arson investigation then began, the report said.
Police say that Doni Miles fled her home after starting the fire and hid at a nearby residence.
Doni Miles was arrested on Tuesday
The warrant alleges that Doni Miles “did willfully and maliciously set fire to” her home.
