GREENVILLE COUNTY – A Clemson University graduate student is charged with leaving the scene of an accident that killed an Easley man Saturday night.

Astrid Muller, 26, is charged with driving too fast for conditions and leaving the scene of an accident with death, according to Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened near U.S. 25, according to Greenville County Deputy Coroner Tom Selfridge.

James David Grisham, of Easley, the driver of the moped, was heading towards Easley when it was struck from behind, according to Rhyne.

Grisham was ejected from the moped and was not wearing a helmet, Rhyne said.

He died at the scene.

Magistrate Leila Foster ordered for Muller to be held without bond.

She will wait in jail until she can seek bond.

Muller is a bioengineering graduate student at Clemson.
